Seattle's most unusual attraction is the Underground Tour. It explores turn-of-the-century storefronts and subterranean sidewalks. Learn about Seattle's colorful past; how Seattle's Founding Fathers' squabbling led to the complicated street system and how a devastating fire allowed the city to solve its unique plumbing problems which, coincidently, created the underground. The hour-and-a-half tour starts in a restored 1890's public house and continues along the sidewalks of Pioneer Square and into the areas below that have been abandoned since 1907.
