Sail and explore the San Juan Islands staying aboard our sailing mothership. We consider ourselves akin to a floating resort that offers new scenery for you to wake up to each morning, your own private stateroom, excellent meals, guided kayaking, and much more.
Sailing aboard PELICAN, our 48-foot trimaran, is a tranquil experience. PELICAN does not heel or lean like standard sailboats and the calm protected waters of the San Juan Islands insure a comfortable and pleasant ride. PELICAN is very safe and has completed a world circumnavigation, logging over 50,000 sea miles.
We invite you to help sail Pelican with us. You can crank a winch, help raise the sails, take the helm, or just relax and watch the scenery glide by. Competent instruction will be available from your captain who has a U.S. Coast Guard License and is also a certified American Sailing Association instructor.
Included in every tour is unlimited use of our expedition mahogany kayaks and the help of our experienced naturalist guide. Each day your guide will take you to the treasures that can only be seen while in a kayak. Paddle into a hidden cove... drift with a Harbor Seal... or watch sea birds as you circle a small rocky islet... each day is unique.
Meals will be presented to you in our spacious main salon with 360-degree view. If the weather is suitable, you can enjoy your meal on the wide decks. We pride ourselves in making fresh delicious meals and include local treats such as crab, prawns, shrimp and fresh salmon. With a detailed pre-trip questionnaire we cater meals to your unique tastes.
Our sailing mothership has 3 private staterooms to accommodate a maximum of 6 guests. Each cabin is spacious and includes queen size beds and private heads (small bathrooms). One of these staterooms is equipped with two beds and is suitable for families or others who would prefer their own beds.
Price ranges from $185/person per day (double occupancy) -to- $215/person per day peak season. You can sign up for anywhere from a day to a week ... reservations required.
