Davenport has the luxury of living the life of a quiet, friendly town while having the advantages of the city at its fingertips. A major airport is only 20 minutes away. Metroploitan Spokane is little more than a half hour's drive, as well as Eastern Washington University in Cheney. 151 miles of fishing, water skiing, pleasure boating and sailboarding in clean, clear blue water - far away from the maddening crowds. Lake Roosevelt is Washington's largest lake, a giant recreational playground only minutes away from downtown Davenport.
With 16 public boat ramps and 6 sandy beach campgrounds within a half hour's drive, Lake Roosevelt also means hiking, picnicking and sightseeing. Good hunting in season, too.
Houseboating has become very popular - exploring the 630 miles of public coastline to your heart's content. Day, weekend and week-long rentals are available at nearby marinas.
And if you've ever had trouble scheduling a tee-off, the beautiful Harrington Golf Course is for you. Great greens. No waiting.
People come from miles around to join in the annual Pioneer Days Celebration every July. But if you miss the celebration, don't worry. There's lots of pioneer paraphernalia at the historical Lincoln County Museum to explore and enjoy.
