BLAINE

Blaine, Whatcom County's most northwestern city, snuggles up against the U.S./Canada border. This unique waterfront community has only 3,400 year-round residents, yet it hosts thousands of visitors everyday. (Blaine is one of the busiest border crossings between the U.S. & Canada, serving 75,000 people daily.)
You'll find a range of restaurants, galleries, shops, recreational activities and other services normally found in much larger cities. Blaine balances the winning combination of small town charm with big-city amenities.
Drayton Harbor is Blaine's dominant feature, providing 8.7 miles of shoreline within the city limits. From Blaine, the harbor sweeps around almost full-circle to the Semiahmoo Spit.
Blaine is conveniently located near many of the region's natural features. The foothills of the Cascade mountain range lie 25 miles to the east with easy access to the Mt. Baker wilderness and Mt. Baker Ski Area.
Major airports are Bellingham International, just 23 miles south of Blaine, and Vancouver International Airport, 25 miles north of Blaine. Sea-Tac International Airport is 125 miles to the south. Blaine Municipal Airport accommodates small private planes.
